AAMC is a regional healthcare system headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland. I am rotating with dietitians of various specialty areas such as general surgery, acute care for the elderly, oncology, heart & vascular, ICU and NICU. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I have worked on other projects such as:

Children's National Medical Center
My two week pediatric rotation was at Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C. The first department I was in was the heart and kidney unit and then I was in the outpatient HIV clinic. I was able to see how closely integrated nutrition is in the treatment of all kinds of disease states. Kids are the sweetest!
BWMC Diabetes and Endocrine Center
I spent one week at the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at BWMC. I observed counseling sessions, group classes, and phone conversations with people at all different stages of the disease. My preceptor even let me try on an insulin pump for a day!
